Finally there is a ” Bridgerton ” replenishment on Netflix : The second season of the hit series from ” Grey’s Anatomy ” creator Shonda Rhimes has been available since March 25, 2022 and brings with it a whopping eight episodes, some of which even longer than an hour walk. This time, the eldest Bridgerton brother, Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey ), is at the center of events. But the very end of the first episode should raise a question for many fans: Who was Marc Pilcher ?

Even before the credits of the first episode entitled “Ein Große Schürzenjäger” start to roll, the dedication appears: “In Memory of Marc Pilcher” or “In Memory of Marc Pilcher”. We explain the important role the deceased played on “Bridgerton”.

Emmy Award winner Marc Pilcher

Brit Marc Elliot Pilcher was the makeup and hairstylist for the first season of Bridgerton and won an Emmy for his work in 2021 , along with teammates Lynda J. Pearce, Claire Matthews, Adam James Phillips, Tania Couper, and Lou Bannell.

Just three weeks after the award ceremony, the 53-year-old died on October 3, 2021 as a result of his COVID-19 illness, which occurred shortly after the award ceremony, as his agency Curtis Brown confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter at the time. According to Curtis Brown, Marc Pilcher was twice vaccinated and had no previous illnesses.

The London-born hair and make-up artist was not only responsible for “Bridgerton”, but also left his mark on many other films and series over the course of his successful career, very often in the fantasy and historical genres.

The very extensive list includes recent credits such as Downton Abbey (series and feature film), several Star Wars films including Solo: A Star Wars Story and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker , the Die Beauty and the Beast live-action, Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender, Exodus starring Christian Bale, and the MCU adventure Thor: The Dark Kingdom .

Oscar nominee in the Make-Up/Hairstyle category
