The Star Trek universe continues to expand. While “ Star Trek 4 ” has finally picked up speed and “ Picard ” recently entered its second season on Amazon Prime Video, the next new TV is already here after the animated series “ Lower Decks ” (2020) and “ Prodigy ” (2021) . format from the sci-fi mega-franchise – and a very special one at that. Because » Star Trek: Strange New Worlds » tells the prequel to the original «Star Trek» series » Spaceship Enterprise » and builds a bridge to the legendary original not only in terms of content, but also with its structure.
While “ Discovery ” and “Picard” tell big stories that span several episodes, “Strange New Worlds” is supposed to go back to the roots of the rather episodic narrative. This was revealed by co-showrunner Akiva Goldsman – who is currently working on the script for “I Am Legend 2” – some time ago. What does that look like in the end?
