Not only are the Avengers movies getting bigger and more bombastic at Marvel (from six characters in The Avengers to the assembled MCU staff in Avengers: Endgame ), the solo movies are also getting crazier events — no matter if » Spider-Man: No Way Home » or » Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness «. However, there is another way – Marvel proved that with the two “Ant-Man” films, for example.
Ant-Man airs today, March 31, 2022 at 8:15 p.m. on VOX and is unquestionably one of the less-seen and underrated Marvel films compared to the MCU mega-hits from «Endgame» to «No Way Home». Because even if (or precisely because) it’s not about saving the world and the whole universe, «Ant-Man» is a lot of fun.

No Avengers bombast
After » Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron » and before » Captain America: Civil War «: «Ant-Man» came to the cinemas between two of the biggest MCU blockbusters and offers the complete contrast program. Instead of a floating city like in Avengers 2 or the civil war between Captain America and Iron Man like in Civil War, Ant-Man revolves around a kindhearted crook (Paul Rudd) who just wants to see his daughter again.
And this deliberately small concept not only suits the hero with his shrinking powers, but is also reflected on the plot level. For example, the «grand» finale of «Ant-Man» takes place in a child’s room, where neither skyscrapers nor aliens fly through the air , but only a «Thomas and Friends» toy train derails (which, however, due to the creative play with seems very large considering the proportions).
And that’s exactly right. «The surprising thing about it: This playfully staged miniature showdown is much more fun than the sheer overwhelming bombast ,» writes FILMSTARTS editor-in-chief Christoph Petersen in the FILMSTARTS review, in which «Ant-Man» received a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

The plot of «Ant Man»
The scientist dr. Hank Pym ( Michael Douglas ) once invented the technology to enlarge and shrink creatures and objects, but fearing that the technology would fall into the wrong hands, he abandoned not only the superhero life, but his as well company withdrawn.
