Warner Bros.
“ Blade ” hails from a time long before Marvel movies were mature, candy-colored superhero entertainment. After all, the title character, played by Wesley Snipes, hunts down vampires – and not only does a lot of blood get drunk, but also spilled. So much so that the unabridged version of the film even ended up on the index in 2000 – and as a result could no longer be freely advertised or sold in Germany.
After the early deletion from the list in 2019 , the uncut film finally received an age rating from 18 years (“No youth release”) – a triumph. “Blade” can finally be sold and shown completely uncut! But that doesn’t mean that the bloodsucker action can be seen uncut everywhere: Kabel1 is showing “Blade” on March 21, 2022 at 10:40 p.m. in the abridged version. With a few exceptions, FSK 18 films may only be shown in full length after 11 p.m. It can therefore be assumed that the station will broadcast that FSK 16 version – in which ten minutes are missing!
If you want to experience the film in its full glory, you can easily get it in stores these days anyway. The Blu-ray set with ” Blade 2 ” and ” Blade: Trinity ” is already available for a small thaler, and there is now even an uncut 4K version:
