After falling out of favor, Special Forces soldier Joey Jones (Jason Statham) deserts his unit and becomes a neglected homeless man on the streets of London. He tries to escape his traumatic past. However, he only succeeds to a limited extent, because while fleeing from a merciless gang, he breaks into a rich man’s apartment in Convent Garden. By chance, he finds out that the fashion photographer who lives there will not be in the country for a few months – so he assumes his identity and plunders his account.
He first looks for a job as a dishwasher, and then hires as a brutal thug for the Chinese mafioso Mr. Chow ( Benedict Wong ). His life finally takes a turn for the better. He reconciles with the people in his circle of acquaintances, above all Nonna Christina ( Agata Buzek ). But then the woman he was with in the gang robbery is pulled dead from the Thames. Using his connection to the criminal underworld, Joey must find those responsible and seek revenge…
