«The Purge», «Panic Room», «The Strangers» or Netflix’s «Hush» serve the home invasion subgenre in a very traditional way. This means: intruders get into a house because they want to steal valuables or cause a bloodbath. But there are always horror films that deviate from this formula, but are still to be understood as home invasion crackers.

The married couple Chloé ( Stéphane Caillard ) and Paul Diallo ( Adama Niane ) leave their country house in the French provinces to their son’s nanny during the holidays. When the couple returns from vacation, a nasty surprise awaits: the babysitter and her husband took advantage of the unsuspecting family’s absence to have their property transferred to their names.
This was accomplished through a loophole in the law that left Chloé and Paul completely powerless: Suddenly, the returnees find themselves evicted from their own homes!
