With the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” series, a lot of mischief has been done in the past. The countless timelines that criss-cross between the sequel, prequel and reboot are a mess. We can still offer you an overview of the franchise’s timelines, even if it doesn’t necessarily reduce the general confusion:
Even more complicated than “Halloween”: We explain the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” timelines
With ” Texas Chainsaw “, the belated sequel to Tobe Hooper’s ” Blood Court in Texas ” celebrates its free TV premiere on Tele 5 (from 0.15 a.m.) on the night of today, March 27th to tomorrow, March 28th, 2022. Although there was already a first sequel with “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2” in the 1980s (and afterwards a lot of further updates), “Texas Chainsaw” by John Luessenhop ignores everything that the franchise has brought to light since the style-defining first Has.
By the way, on Amazon you can not only order the theatrical version (which is also running uncut on TV today) on Blu-ray, but also the Unrated Edition, which shifts up a gear in terms of brutality.

That’s what “Texas Chainsaw” is about
After young Sally ( Elena Sanchez ) escaped the murderous Sawyer clan in the 1970s, the alarmed townsfolk burned down the cannibal tribe’s mansion to end the family’s reign of terror once and for all. Decades later, and hundreds of miles away, young Heather Miller ( Alexandra Daddario ) inherits a sprawling Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had.
Together with her friends, the young woman sets off to calmly examine her newly won wealth. The building seems to be deserted at first, but then it turns out that nothing but naked horror awaits them in the damp cellar vaults.
