“ Deep Water ” was eagerly awaited by many – not only because there were sparks between the (now separated) stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas during the filming of the film , but also because the film adaptation of the novel was released after a 20-year hiatus marks a major erotic thriller comeback for the now 80-year-old director Adrian Lyne , who once caused a sensation with films such as “9 ½ Weeks” and “A Fateful Affair”.
Now that “Tie Fe Wasser” can be accessed on Amazon Prime Video , the interest is correspondingly high. As reviews and voices on the web show, opinions vary widely (see, for example, the average rating of 51 out of 100 points and the user rating of 3.8 out of 10 at Metacritic ), but there is a need for some discussion, also with regard to this End.

We don’t want to anticipate that at this point, so soon after the release of “Tiefe Wasser”. As in our review , we want to point out once again that there are major differences between the film and the book by “The Talented Mr. Ripley” author Patricia Highsmith , especially at the end. If you don’t know them yet, but have become curious after viewing them, you can catch up on them in several ways.
“Deep Water” on Audible and Spotify
Of course, you can always just grab the “Tie Fe Wasser” novel itself. Both the Amazon audio book platform Audible and the streaming provider Spotify offer a completely free version, in which you also have the story read to you.

With both services, the “Tiefe Wasser” audio book is included in the subscription. There are of course costs for such a service, but you can test both for a whole month for free. If you already have an Amazon Prime subscription (which you need to watch “Tie Fe Wasser” anyway), the Audible trial period even increases to two months, which finally gives you more than enough time to get the entire book to lead spirits.
In 2005, WDR even produced a somewhat more complex two-part radio play based on “Tiefe Wasser” (with Rufus Beck as the Ben Affleck counterpart), which was also available on the broadcaster’s official channels for a long time. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case at the moment, but when browsing the Internet you will still find what you are looking for from third-party providers on one or the other video and audio platform.
