Fans of cult killer Jason Voorhees have had to go through some ups and downs in recent months: after the » Friday the 13th » films ended up on the index one after the other due to their ruthlessly brutal kills, the indexes have been lifted one after the other in recent years .
But then the FSK 18 complete set released in 2021 sold out at record speed, so most fans went away empty-handed. The situation was similar with a new edition of the complete set. Shortly after the pre-sale started a good two weeks ago, the first fans reported that the edition was sold out. But there’s also good news — because now fans can place pre-orders again, although it’s questionable how long stocks will last this time:

» «Friday the 13th.» Uncut box at MediaMarkt *
The «Friday the 13th» box will be launched on May 13, 2022 — and is significantly cheaper than the Steelbook from 2021. Because then the so-called 8-Movie-Collection will appear for the first time as an affordable standard edition on Blu- rays After the films were hard to come by for many years, they are now practically thrown after you: Eight films for just under 43 euros – that makes a unit price of just over 5 euros!
This is what fans have been waiting for! At least that’s the impression you get when you take a look at the current Amazon sales charts. There, the «Freitag» collection ranks first in the DVD & Blu-ray category . No wonder, given the popularity of the legendary slasher series, the limited edition was ultimately far too small to really include all Jason to serve younger. The new edition should now remedy the situation.
«Friday the 13th» box: 8x uncut horror with cult factor
Incidentally, the «Friday the 13th» set on Blu-ray is by far the best and most comprehensive German-language collection of the series — and with the new edition, this also applies in terms of value for money. The old individual editions not only take up much more space on the shelf, but are also much more expensive overall. And let’s not even talk about the limited media book editions for the individual films. They are quite chic, but one (!) film costs almost as much as the new, complete set of 8!
Okay, admittedly: The «complete set of 8″ is not quite correct. Because, as fans know, the original series – of course not counting the crossover “ Freddy Vs. Jason ” and the remake “ Friday the 13th ” from 2009 – includes a total of ten films that, due to a difficult legal situation, are released in Germany, Great Britain and Co. is unfortunately only available in two parts: Films 9 and 10 (» Jason Goes To Hell » and » Jason X «) are also available in an inexpensive 18+ set:
» «Jason Goes To Hell»/»Jason x» on Amazon *
Because the indexes of the two probably weirdest parts of the entire saga were also lifted. However, completists and uncut fetishists who want to know the exact details should note that part 9 is only available in the uncut R-rated version and not in the even longer unrated version — which was still only released on DVD.
