Big stories and complex characters often simply need time to unfold — be it a gangster epic like «Once Upon a Time in America», a spectacular fantasy adventure like «The Lord of the Rings» or superhero showdowns like » Avengers 4: Endgame». With these films, you can drift away for a few seconds just because of their running time, no matter how good you find them in the end. It’s kinda different with The Wolf Of Wall Street .
The biopic by master director Martin Scorsese (“GoodFellas”, “Taxi Driver”), nominated for five Oscars, develops an incredible drive from the very first scene that is hard to resist – and has a rampant mix of drugs, sex and Once intoxicated by money, it also takes the full 180 minutes until disillusionment sets in. In any case, I keep sitting there dumbfounded, even after looking at it several times – is that really supposed to have been three hours? Impossible!
«The Wolf Of Wall Street» can hardly be surpassed in terms of entertaining. Anyone who may have avoided the film so far precisely because of its lush running time currently has the opportunity to catch up on this masterpiece of cinema entertainment on Netflix and be taught a lesson.
