And once again a cinema film ends up in a streaming subscription just a few weeks after its premiere on the big screen: It only started on February 10, 2022 and can still be seen in many cinemas, you can watch the crime thriller “ Death on the Nile ’ with Master Detective Hercule Poirot on Disney+ starting March 30th.

Hercule Poirot, as previously played by Kenneth Branagh in “ Murder on the Orient Express ” , is of course the wearer of the aforementioned mustache, which is so impressive that it is not only considered the trademark of the master detective, but almost something like the secret one hero of the film series, which by the way will soon be continued with a third part.
After “Death on the Nile” the next Hercule Poirot film is already in the works – and should be completely different
In addition to Kenneth Branagh, who also returned to the director’s chair, and his facial hair, the Agatha Christie adaptation “Death on the Nile” also features stars such as Gal Gadot aka “Wonder Woman”, Armie Hammer (“Call Me By Your Name”), Annette Bening (“Captain Marvel”), Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”), Letitia Wright (“Black Panther”) and Rose Leslie (“Game Of Thrones”).
In addition to stars to watch your fill, there are also chic pictures, smart costumes and opulent equipment, which, however, are less convincing overall than in the predecessor “Murder on the Orient Express”. Despite the shooting in Morocco, half-baked computer animations were used too often.
“Death on the Nile” weaker than “Murder on the Orient Express”
Overall, “Death on the Nile” only averaged 2.5 out of 5 possible stars in our FILMSTARTS reviews – for fans of Agatha Christie’s crime stories in general and Hercule Poirot in particular, the film is of course still a must-see. And if you have a Disney+ subscription anyway , you can now easily take a look at the Whodunit thriller.
This time, the Belgian solves his new case on a river cruise – and in the process scrutinizes all his fellow passengers, putting his razor-sharp powers of observation to the test as usual. In this way he gets closer to solving the riddle piece by piece… and the audience can puzzle along with it.
