That would be one thing if Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi got a second season. For years, prequel fans have been waiting for Ewan McGregor to reprise his iconic Jedi role, and it seemed like the upcoming six episodes of the series, which launches on Disney+ in May in May, would be a once-in-a-lifetime gift for those ardent fans of the legendary Jedi Master . But a season 2 of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is not out of the question.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, «[Season 2] is definitely something we’re talking about, mostly because everyone got together and had such a great time. Ewan [McGregor] had a great time. [Darth Vader actor] Hayden [Christensen] had a great time. So in that regard, certainly everyone who was involved would like to see it don’t stop.»

But the Star Wars boss also clarifies, «We really need to take the time to answer the question of why we should do [a second season]. If we decide to do anything else with the character Obi-Wan, we have to answer the question: Why?
Sounds reasonable, but it can mean many things. After all, the «why?» could also be answered with «because people would watch it», and not necessarily with the fact that a season 2 would add another significant facet to the story about Obi-Wan Kenobi. Should the upcoming series become a big hit and ensure correspondingly high streaming numbers on Disney+ , Kennedy will certainly think very carefully about whether there is somehow a reason for a sequel to be shaken out of Obi’s dusty Jedi habit.
