It’s been almost three years since the third season of ” Stranger Things “. But in May 2022, the story about the battle between the supernaturally gifted Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ) and her young friends against the dark forces of the Upside Down finally continues. As with many other productions, the long wait was due on the one hand to the delays caused by the corona pandemic. On the other hand, it should also have something to do with the sheer size of the coming season.
According to series creators Matt and Ross Duffer , the story of “Stranger Things” season 4 should once again overshadow the previous seasons. Because of the scale of the story, the brothers are already jokingly referring to it as their “‘ Game Of Thrones ‘ season.” With nine episodes, Season 4 is on average for the previous seasons of the series, but it sounds as if there should be more episodes this time that will last well over an hour.
In fact, there is apparently so much story in the “Stranger Things” sequel that it was decided for the first time to publish a season of the series in two parts (and not in one go as usual). The first part of “Stranger Things 4” will be released on Netflix on May 27, 2022 , and the second part will follow about a month later on July 1.

The fact that the fourth “Stranger Things” season is probably taking on epic proportions is also due to the fact that the main characters are now in very different places six months after the incidents in the Starcourt Mall. Eleven and Will ( Noah Schnapp ) eventually moved away from Hawkins at the end of Season 3, while the rest of Mike’s ( Finn Wolfhard ) gang stayed behind in the small town. Meanwhile, Will’s mother, Joyce ( Winona Ryder ), sets out to find Sheriff Hopper ( David Harbour ), who was thought dead, when there are growing indications that he might still be alive.
Of course, with a new danger from another world soon to appear (which we might catch a glimpse of at the end of the extra-long trailer), it doesn’t take long for the plot threads to converge again and everyone to work together again to make it happen to put an end to the forces of the upside down once and for all…
The Duffers promised that season 4 will also have many answers about the dark parallel world and other mysteries. And that’s no wonder, after all, the series is gradually turning into the home stretch with the coming season. The already confirmed fifth season will be the last.
