The creators of the acclaimed Harley Quinn animated series have revealed they are working on a spin-off titled Noonan’s , centered around the character Kite Man. The focus is on the DC villain Kite Man, who buys the bar Noonan’s, which is particularly popular with Gotham’s villains. But he soon realizes that running a bar is not that easy.
Series creator Patrick Schumacker refers to his new project as part of the announcement as «‘ Cheers ‘ to super villains,» a nod to the iconic sitcom hit starring Ted Danson and Rhea Perlman. He also already teases that in addition to appearances by the main characters of the parent series, such as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, legendary DC villains such as Lex Luthor and Bane, who were already seen in «Harley Quinn», should also play a role again.
The Batman nemesis everyone laughed at: This is Kite Man
With that, Patrick Schumacker and his team continue to help rehabilitate what is probably the most ridiculous Batman villain ever. For a long time, comic fans made fun of the Kite Man, introduced in the templates in 1960. After all, his whole villain power consists only of the fact that he is a good hang glider pilot, i.e. he knows how to use the hang glider. And while this allows him to drop nerve gas bombs from the air, it’s still pretty bad when every one of your nasty plans is based on having somewhere you can launch as high as possible and there’s enough wind to point you in the right direction must wear.
Even the comics and other villains made fun of Kite Man later, so it’s not surprising that every movie Batman always has some connection to the Joker, but neither Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder nor currently Matt Reeves even have a connection to them came up with the idea of including the Kite Man in their films.
Warner Bros. Even if he touches Harley indecently here, Kite-Man became a fan favorite in the animated series «Harley Quinn».
For a long time there were only a few comics in which Kite-Man was allowed to shine. He scored a rare highlight in Tom King’s Batman: The War Of Jokes And Riddles series, aka The Joker/Riddler War, when Batman must stop a confrontation between the Joker and the Riddler, recruiting some of his nemesis — and suddenly punching the hour of the kite man when a joint kite flight is necessary to achieve the goals (see our article picture).

Above all, series production helped the villain to regain popularity. While the character is also poked fun at in the animated series Harley Quinn , he suddenly won the hearts of many fans as a rather narrow-minded villain who is madly in love with Poison Ivy and wants to marry her.
After the finale of the second season, those responsible are now building on this popularity of the character with a spin-off. The series will run in the USA on the HBO Max streaming service. It is not yet known where the series will be shown in Germany. «Harley Quinn» runs in Germany on the pay-TV channel WarnerTV Comedy.
