Comment: The tragic comedy «CODA», which Apple TV+ acquired in a bidding contest after the Sundance premiere, is definitely not the best film of the year — and still a logical winner. A film that works just as well on TV (where most voters have seen it due to Covid restrictions) as it does on the big screen. A film that, in contrast to the decidedly cool «The Power Of The Dog», warms the heart in this chaotic world. A film that offers secure feel-good comfort instead of an (aesthetic) challenge. The win isn’t necessarily deserved, but it’s definitely understandable.
