TFM Distribution
This is what many, many horror fans have been waiting for: After 15 years and many difficulties — first with the expectations of the fans, which were undermined, then with the approval authorities — the time has finally come: Rob Zombie’s » Halloween » has been available since April 25th. March 2022 available for the first time completely uncut in the Director’s Cut with FSK 18 approval!
In the remake, slasher icon Michael Myers took no prisoners when it came to brutality in the cinema (especially in direct comparison to John Carpenter’s original from 1978). But although the theatrical version is certainly one of the most brutal horror films to be seen on the big screen in the 2000s, it was subsequently expanded to include a few brutal moments.
The Director’s Cut puts another eleven (!) minutes on top of that and thus overtaxed the good will of the FSK: The Director’s Cut ended up on the index and as a result could not be officially advertised or sold. Almost 15 years later, the rehabilitation followed — which is now being celebrated with a new edition in the home cinema:
» «Halloween» Director’s Cut at Amazon *
The Director’s Cut was removed from the index last summer and, with a slight delay, is now approved for ages 18 and over — and is finally being unleashed on local horror fans in its full, disturbing glory. A big moment for uncut enthusiasts, whose patience will be rewarded with a 3-disc edition on Blu-ray .
It not only comes with the extended long version, but also contains the uncut theatrical version and a bulging bonus DVD. And so that the thing also looks good on the shelf, the whole thing comes in a noble Mediabook edition including a booklet. collector’s heart, what more do you want?
