Amazon Prime Video subscribers can now stream “ Shoot ‘Em Up ” at no additional cost. It is an insane firework of action that throws any logic overboard. However, the film by director and screenwriter Michael Davis is so consistently absurd that we are only too happy to overlook it and get intoxicated by the ballergy.

«Shoot ‘Em Up» is pure action madness
When Mr. Smith ( Clive Owen ) protects a pregnant woman from dangerous criminals while she gives birth in a hail of bullets, the adventure for the mysterious protagonist begins. Because the mother dies in childbirth and now Smith has to take care of the baby. However, gangster Hertz ( Paul Giamatti ) wants the little child dead and sends more of his henchmen to hunt Smith and the baby.
The plot fits on a beer mat, but the implementation makes «Shoot ‘Em Up» one of the craziest action films you will ever see: Almost from minute 1 onwards, the shooting is non-stop, like a John Wick has to Mr. Smith also faces a horde of enemies as a one-man army, only his methods are a dozen times more insane than those of the Keanu Reeves hero.
There is a scene in which Mr. Smith kills an opponent with a carrot. Another time, he has sex with Donna, played by Monica Belucci , and gives her the orgasm of her life, while at the same time shooting down rows of minions. «Shoot ‘Em Up» is not ashamed to sacrifice all logic for entertainment — and that’s a good thing!
