This is what «Maya the Bee — The Secret Kingdom» is about
Maja (voice: Theresa Zertani ) has once again caused a big mess with her carefree manner and as punishment she now wants to separate the queen of the poppy meadow from her best friend Willi ( Jan Delay ). To prevent this from happening, Maja and Willi run away and only want to return when they have proven that they can take on responsibility.
So it’s a good thing that an injured ant entrusted them with a golden egg. From this slips a princess who has to be protected from now on. But on the journey to their home they have to overcome many challenges, especially since the two nasty noise beetles ( Emilia Schüle and Sasha ) are after the noble ant offspring…
Is Maya the Bee 3 worth it?
In the FILMSTARTS review, «The Secret Kingdom» received a solid 3 out of 5 stars . Although the third cinematic adventure of the cult bee is told somewhat clumsily, according to critic Oliver Kube, «it is endearingly amusing and illustrated in a sympathetic and independent way».
In addition, it is a pity that there are hardly any appearances of other popular supporting characters such as the grasshopper Flip, but the new figures would provide adequate replacements.
