In the opening minutes of Fresh we meet Noa ( Daisy Edgar-Jones ), frustrated by her single life. Because she only ever gets to know losers and weirdos when dating online, she is about to give up looking for the right person. Then she meets the charming Steve ( Sebastian Stan ) in the vegetable department of her supermarket. The duo strikes up a conversation and Noa is instantly taken with the articulate, handsome man.
Spontaneously she gives him her phone number and immediately arranges a first meeting. The latter is so enjoyable that the two end up in bed that same evening. Even after that everything seems wonderful. So Noa happily accepts when Steve invites her to what she hopes will be a romantic weekend trip to the country. As soon as she arrives, however, the young woman is shocked to discover that her new lover has so far kept a few important details about himself and his extraordinary preferences secret from her…

With «Don’t Look Up» and «The Big Short» director Adam McKay plus his production partner Kevin J. Messick , «Fresh» has two prominent Hollywood string pullers on board as producers. The staging and the screenplay, on the other hand, were in comparatively inexperienced hands.
