In the USA, “ X ” is already in cinemas this weekend and has just celebrated its festival premiere in advance, so that the first reviews have now appeared. And in those “X” comes off excellently through the series. So far, only positive reviews have been registered on the RottenTomatoes collection platform, so that “X” currently has a rating of 100% there. Even if one or the other negative criticism will appear over time, this is a house brand, especially for a horror film.
And above all, horror fans should be excited about what the reviews say. Even the trailer brought back memories of the 1970s terror classic ” Texas Chainsaw Massacre ” and the title, which was last continued with a Netflix sequel , often falls in the reviews . The strong characters, the cast, the well-placed humor in this homage to filmmaking and good old horror cinema and of course – very important for the genre – the moments of shock are also praised. Oh yes: there is more sex than in the original, that’s because of the plot.

In “X” in 1979, a film crew led by actor Jackson Hole ( Scott Mescudi ), strip dancers Maxine ( Mia Goth ) and Bobby-Lynne ( Brittany Snow ) as well as director RJ ( Owen Campbell ) and his girlfriend, who is responsible for the sound Lorraine ( Jenna Ortega ) shoot a porn film – and rents a farmhouse from an old married couple ( Stephen Ure and again Mia Goth ) , apparently unaware of the true hustle and bustle of their guests . But soon all hell will break loose…
