What begins as a road movie about a couple of brothers who are fleeing bank robbers and who love shooting, ends in a bloodthirsty, ludicrous monster spectacle of the craziest kind: Yes, director Robert Rodriguez and author Quentin Tarantino once created one of the most famous in “ From Dusk Till Dawn ”. U-turns in film history – and not least with the second half of the film called the guardians of morals into action, also in Germany. The unabridged version ended up on the index in 1997, but finally received the blessing of the FSK in 2017 — and has since been openly advertised and sold in Germany again. Nevertheless, the film has increasingly disappeared from store shelves in recent years.
While the strictly limited and outrageously expensive Mediabook editions of the film are still available here and there, the affordable standard edition for the small purse has been out of stock for quite some time. From April 7, 2022, «From Dusk Till Dawn» will finally be available again completely unabridged on Blu-ray — for less than ten euros. And that’s not all: At the same time, an uncut trilogy set including » From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money » and » From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter » will also be released, which you can get for just under 17 euros:

While we can primarily recommend the legendary first part, which earned a place in our list of the best horror films of all time , the inexpensive trilogy set is particularly worthwhile for all those genre fans who might still like the two sequels not and always wanted to catch up. Although they are a bit trashier and not nearly as creative as the original, they still bring some great ideas with them — especially part 3, which is a prequel more than 80 years before the orgy of Robert Rodriguez and thus in a completely different one epoch plays.

Seth ( George Clooney ) and Richard Gecko ( Quentin Tarantino ) find themselves on the run after a botched bank robbery. The fact that Richard brutally murders a hostage in the process only causes more problems for the brothers. Because now the stubborn FBI agent Chase ( John Saxon ) is breathing down their necks, chasing them no matter what. Finally, the criminal duo ends up in a remote motel, where they meet the widowed ex-priest Jacob Fuller ( Harvey Keitel ) and his two children Kate ( Juliet Lewis ) and Scott ( Ernest Liu ).
The gangsters decide to use the family as a cover to get across the border into Mexico. Seth and Jacob come to an agreement: the Fullers help the geckos escape, but everyone stays alive — and the next morning they go their separate ways forever. But while everything initially goes according to plan, their trip takes a tragic turn when they stop at a bar aptly named Titty Twister. Because this particularly ragged dive bar in the middle of nowhere hides a dark secret. And before they know it, they’ll be dealing with sinister figures — and if they have their way, their guests will never see daylight again…
