James Stack/Netflix
A new erotic thriller is soon making its way to Netflix — not as a feature film but as a three-part mini-series: » Damage » will be a contemporary adaptation of the 1991 novel of the same name by Josephine Hart, which topped several bestseller lists for weeks at the time. The German title is «Death» — and that should probably ring a bell for many film fans…
… because “ Fate ” was made into a film immediately after the novel was published, starring Juliette Binoche and Jeremy Irons. Netflix has now grabbed several stars from major film and series franchises for the new series adaptation: Richard Armitage («The Hobbit») and Charlie Murphy («Peaky Blinders») play the main roles, and there is also Indira Varma (Game Of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi), Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel) and Pippa Bennett-Warner (Gangs Of London).
Hot affair with fiancé’s father
Netflix describes the project as an «exciting and seductive mini-series about erotic obsession and forbidden desires» according to The Hollywood Reporter — and that pretty much hits the nail on the head when you look at «Damage’s» story about a dangerous love triangle:
The enigmatic Anna Barton is engaged to Martyn Fleming and begins a passionate affair with his married father, a respected politician. While Anna is unwilling to give up either of her relationships, the father becomes increasingly obsessive and desperate, caught in a spiral of lust, sex and secrets that threatens to destroy his entire life.
