This feverish and dramatic musical full of weird ideas was implemented by Leos Carax , who is best known for the grotesque film experience “ Holy Motors ”. Like this enigmatic, modern cult classic that plays with narrative conventions, «Annette» unfortunately went under drastically at the box office. But like «Holy Motors» before it, the musical with Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard should finally find its deserved audience in the home cinema . While the DVD and Blu-ray appear as regular editions, there is the 4K disc in the nicely designed Mediabook, which includes the standard Blu-ray as well as the 4K disc. This edition also includes an «Annette» poster and a 24-page booklet with information about the film.

Successful stand-up comedian Henry ( Adam Driver ) is a provocateur par excellence. His wife Ann ( Marion Cotillard ) is also in the limelight, but is a respected opera singer. As an unlikely celebrity couple, they are magnets for the tabloids and repeatedly feel that their professional actions have an impact on their private lives — and vice versa. Even the birth of their daughter Annette is only a brief moment of intimate happiness before a tragic catastrophe occurs…
