In ” Moon Knight ” Episode 3, after the animated credits, there is an overlay: “In Memory Of Gaspard Ulliel”. The reason for this is simple: French actor Gaspard Ulliel plays the character Anton Mogart in “Moon Knight” but was unable to see the premiere of the series himself; he died in January 2022 at the age of only 37 as a result of a skiing accident.
Is there another Gaspard Ulliel reunion in “Moon Knight”?
“Moon Knight” will remain Gaspard Ulliel’s only appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), although Episode 3 may not be the only one in which he can be seen: in the episode, the Moon Knights’ Anton Mogart, who he plays, will be cast Missile hit in the back and disappears injured in the fog – an exit that is deliberately so vague that all possibilities remain open.
So it seems quite possible that Anton Mogart will appear again in episodes 4-6, but the role of the antique collector should have been exhausted after episode 3 , he has no further meaning for the plot. What’s more: Anton Mogart is also in the comics, but he’s not a particularly important character there either.
Anton Mogart aka Midnight Man in the Marvel Comics
In the Marvel Comics, Anton Mogart is a master thief who is dubbed Midnight Man because he always commits his crimes at midnight. He eventually clashes with Moon Knight, falls into a river and is presumed dead. Later he works together with Moon Knight villain Bushman, but again cannot defeat his adversary.
