Director Ruben Fleischer ( Uncharted) celebrated a truly successful feature film debut in 2009 with his horror comedy Zombieland . The undead apocalypse, which is as charming and funny as it is bloodthirsty and spectacular, conquered the hearts of countless genre fans, who naturally also asked for a second helping. And in fact, «Zombieland 2» was discussed shortly afterwards. In the end we still had to wait a whopping ten years for Columbus ( Jesse Eisenberg ), Tallahassee ( Woody Harrelson ), Wichita ( Emma Stone ) and Little Rock ( Abigail Breslin) plunged into the undead fray again. But was the wait worth it? You can see that on TV tonight: Because “ Zombieland 2: Double is better ” celebrates its free TV premiere on ProSieben on March 20, 2022 (from 10:55 p.m.).
The late evening broadcast may not suit everyone who has to get up early on Monday morning. Gorehounds, on the other hand, should definitely play into their hands with the slot. Because: In «Zombieland 2» things get really serious at times, so that the film was rightly released by the FSK from the age of 16 — and with that release, the film is not only allowed to be in prime time, but at the earliest from 10 p.m be shown in full length. Either way: As in part 1, you can expect a well-disposed star ensemble, which slices its way through hordes of undead in a varied way for 100 minutes. Part 2 can’t keep up with its predecessor, but if you’re just looking for some brain-busting fun and zombie apocalypse, you should still get your money’s worth with «Zombieland 2».

The quartet mentioned at the beginning survived the onset of the zombie apocalypse a few years ago more or less unscathed and has not given up the fight against the undead to this day. While Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock take every opportunity to have fun despite their daily struggle for survival (including just making themselves comfortable in the White House), the four also get away from the roaming Zombie hordes faced some challenges.
Little Rock, meanwhile, has grown from a sweet (but by no means innocent) girl to a young woman, and thus finds increasing interest in the opposite sex. When she meets the hippie Berkeley ( Avan Jogia ) one day, the two decide to elope together. But the trio, which has become Wichita’s family over the past few years, knows exactly what to do in this situation and immediately follows the trail of the baby. Meanwhile, a new, particularly nasty zombie species is spreading across the country…
