If you are interested in film music, the name Michael Giacchino should mean a lot. He is the composer behind numerous Pixar films, received an Oscar nomination for ” Ratatouille ” and then the coveted golden boy for ” Oben “. But he also shaped more recent live-action blockbuster cinema. He penned the music for the two most recent major comic book adaptations: ” Spider-Man: No Way Home ” and ” The Batman “. Now, film composer Michael Giacchino is directing the MCU Halloween special Werewolf By Night .
However, this task behind the camera is not entirely new to him. A few years ago, he directed the short film “Monster Challenge”, starring comedians Patton Oswalt and Ben Schwartz , as a homage to Japanese cinema and TV. He also directed the animated short film Star Trek: Short Treks . Werewolf By Night will be his first major directorial effort, though, and it sure is a rather surprising choice.
