” Jujutsu Kaisen ” is still quite young, but already a big hit. The manga series, which started in Japan in 2018 and has also been published in Germany since 2019, was the best-selling ever on the German market in 2021. The anime adaptation, which was released in 2020, has already made it into the IMDb Top 250 of the best series of all time. German fans should already be very excited about the upcoming cinema prequel: ” Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ” will be shown in German cinemas from tomorrow, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, as part of the KAZÉ Anime Nights.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel to Jujutsu Kaisen. The eponymous jujutsu is a type of magic power that allows the user to transform negative emotions into powerful curses.
The film is about the youth Yuta Okkotsu, who as a child has to watch his girlfriend Rika Orimoto die in an accident. He then loses his will to live, but then the jujuzist Satoru Gojo takes him on as a student. Together with his classmates, Yuta soon has to face a great danger. Because the dark curse magician Suguru Geto wants to violently reshape the world according to his ideas.
Already a big hit in cinemas
“Jujutsu Kaisen 0” was released in Japan in December last year. With national grossing equivalent to around US$109 million, it is the highest-grossing film released in Japan in 2021 and also ranked 20th in the list of the highest-grossing films of all time in Japan.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” also had a very successful start in the USA and Canada last week and already took in 17.7 million dollars on the first weekend. Only the superhero blockbuster The Batman was more popular in North America during the same period.
