AMC/Netflix
After Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould , the creators of ” Breaking Bad ” and ” Better Call Saul ,” confirmed to Variety last Thursday at the premiere of “Better Call Saul ,” rather indirectly , that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were in the finale of “Breaking Bad ‘ spin-offs are involved, we now have certainty: Yes, Walter White and Aaron Paul are indeed returning.
Better Call Saul showrunner and co-creator Peter Gould let the cat out of the bag during a panel at Paley Fest LA on Saturday: “I don’t want to spoil anything for the audience, but the first question we were asked , when we started the show was, ‘Are we going to see Walt and Jesse again?’ Instead of avoiding, I just say: yes! You just have to find out for yourself how this will happen.”
With that, fans can finally be reassured, because the long-awaited appearances of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have been one of the big topics that have constantly surrounded the series since the beginning of the first season of “Better Call Saul”. The sixth and final season of “Better Call Saul” starts on Netflix on April 19 . The series will start in two parts and the start of the second half will be shown in Germany on July 12, 2022.
Bryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman are just the beginning
Far more cryptic, however, was a statement from Saul actor Bob Odenkirk , who fired up fans on Saturday after the return of Bryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman was made official: “Believe it or not, there’s more! Before Odenkirk could elaborate on what else awaits us in the finale, Gould cut him off so he wouldn’t reveal too much ahead of time . That leaves a big question mark. Will there be any other returning characters from Breaking Bad, perhaps Walter’s wife Skyler (Anna Gunn)?
Speaking on last Thursday’s red carpet, Odenkirk said, “Personally, I feel like the two shows are more connected than ever in the final season. And I think it’s surprising and cool – and it’ll make you want to watch ‘ Breaking Bad ‘ again.”
