It was recently officially confirmed by his family that action star and cult actor Bruce Willis has had to retire due to ill health: he suffers from aphasia, a condition that affects Willis’ ability to speak and memorize lines. The Los Angeles Times had previously researched the star’s environment for a long time and documented how restricted his work was recently: Willis’ days of shooting and his text were kept to a minimum and he sometimes used headphones through which he had his sentences whispered in his ear . One of his many recent projects is » Fortress — Judgment Day «.
Start of a trilogy
Apparently, «Fortress» also belongs in the series of the many cheaply produced actioners that Bruce Willis has been making non-stop for a few years and that now unfortunately mark the end of his career, which is otherwise filled with many great films. «Fortress» is even the start of a whole trilogy.
In December 2021 it was said that this had already been completely turned off, but the third part is still listed on imdb with the status «pre-production». Accordingly, Willis could no longer stand in front of the camera. So it’s debatable if Willis will still be there (or maybe only in flashbacks with parts 1 and 2 archive footage?). In any case, Willis is definitely in “ Fortress 2: Sniper’s Eye ” and “Fortress 1”, which will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in Germany on April 29, 2022 , is too.

A CIA agent has to do it again: The story of «Fortress»
The official description of the rental company Splendid and the trailer are not entirely consistent as to whether the accommodation in Fortress is a retirement home or a «unique retreat for executives who need a fresh start».
