A junkie who likes to set fires and infuriates good citizens. A well-behaved-looking woman who dances out of rhythm, plays basketball incredibly badly and gets whizzy at the thought of bad boys. Dirty, noisy punk music. And a darkly funny look at US philistinism. Shot by the director of an infamous experimental horror film… Dinner In America — A Punk Love Story offers all this — the unwashed middle finger of romantic comedy, which is one of the few representatives of the genre to be rated 16+ by the FSK.
The wild, vulgar and bitterly angry mix of love story, US satire and punk comedy celebrated its world premiere in January 2020 — and was greeted with very positive press response. Now «Dinner In America» is finally making it into German home cinema: Koch Media is launching the indie insider tip on March 31, 2022, either as a standard edition or as a media book.

Which, given the tone of voice, hardly anyone would expect: «Dinner In America» is a production by comedy superstar Ben Stiller . However, the quirky, silly style that many of his fans associate with the «Zoolander» maker is not found in «Dinner In America».
This is «Dinner in America»
Simon ( Kyle Gallner ) isn’t in control of his life: he’s an addict, a drug dealer, constantly broke, and his rebellious punk band is a mile away from making themselves heard. When the ne’er-do-well with a moustache, almost Hitler haircut and aggression problems meets the loner Patty ( Emily Skeggs ), things can’t really go well: she dances lousy, plays basketball even worse and is pretty naive; he is on the run from the police for setting a fire. But Patty helps him out — and thanks to their shared love of punk rock, the emergency acquaintance could become much more…
