“ Infinite Storm ” is based on a true story: Pam Bales ( Naomi Watts ) works as a volunteer search and rescue worker on Mount Washington, the highest mountain in the Northeastern United States. On today, which is a very special date for her, she wants to climb the summit for personal reasons. Her neighbor Dave ( Denis O’Hare ) tries to warn her because the weather forecast is not good. But he knows that he won’t be able to dissuade Pam from her plan. Not today.
The sky above her is getting darker and a storm is beginning to set in, but Pam keeps walking. When she reaches the snow line, she suddenly sees tracks left by someone who, even at this altitude, only wears normal sports shoes. The experienced hiker knows how dangerous it is to climb the mountain without the right equipment.
Arriving at the summit, she meets John ( Billy Howle ), who appears to be severely weakened and mentally absent from the cold and physical exertion. With no way to get help, Pam decides to get him down the valley single-handedly as the storm gets worse and more dangerous…

Infinite Storm is the first US-funded feature film by director Malgorzata Szumowska . All scenes were shot in Slovenia by the Polish filmmaker, who won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale 2015 for «Body». The script, written by Joshua Rollins (who has starred in ‘Contagion’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ among others), is based on a factual article by Ty Gagne that appeared in The New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper.
Leading actress Naomi Watts was praised almost unanimously by the US press for her «Tour De Force» performance. Film fans know the Briton, who moved to Australia as a teenager, from leading roles in screen hits such as «Mulholland Drive», «Ring», «21 Grams» and Peter Jackson’s «King Kong». Most recently she was represented in German cinemas with «Beflügelt — Ein Vogel named Penguin Bloom».
Alongside Watts were Denis O’Hare from «Dallas Buyers Club» and the vampire series «True Blood», Billy Howle, who played little Rey’s father in «Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker», Eliot Sumner («The Gentlemen») and Parker Sawyers («My First Lady») in front of the camera.
