It’s been over six years since the finale of Downton Abbey . And even if the fans of the historical series hit can look forward to two sequels (» Downton Abbey II: A New Era » starts in German cinemas on April 28, 2022), many would certainly not have anything against a very similar mix of opulent features, heartbreaking tragedies, endearingly quirky characters and a large dose of class drama in series form. » Bridgerton » on Netflix was able to help out a little, but with its much more humorous and modern touch it hit a different nerve than «Downton Abbey».
But with » The Gilded Age «, «Downton Abbey» lovers* (and also some «Bridgerton» fans*) should now get their money’s worth again, after all the new series even comes from «Downton» creator Julian Fellowes himself. And now the whole thing can also be seen in Germany…
That’s what «The Gilded Age» is about

The young Marian Brook ( Louisa Jacobson ) gets caught between the fronts of “new” and “old” money . After the death of her father , she moves to the metropolis to live with her two snobbish aunts ( Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon ), but she also gets in touch there comes with those who despise their aunts, who primarily rely on tradition: free spirits and self-made men&women, but also impoverished souls…
When will «The Gilded Age» be shown in Germany?
