But suddenly the seemingly psychopathic Mandrake ( Daniel Gillies ) appears in front of them together with his taciturn henchman Tubs ( Matthias Luafutu ) plus a loaded gun and suddenly changes their lives. “Coming Home In The Dark” celebrated its world premiere at the renowned Sundance Festival in the USA. In Germany, the title was also shown at the Fantasy Filmfest in 2021. “Coming Home In The Dark” is based on a short story
The film was directed by King Kong and Black Sheep actor James Ashcroft as his directorial debut. The screenplay, co-written by Ashcroft with Eli Kent (“Millie Lies Low”), is based on the short story of the same name by award-winning New Zealand author Owen Marshall .
